About me
Academic and business editor
Many of my academic clients whose first language is not English tell me they lack confidence in their writing. First, let me tell you that if I could write and speak another language as well as they could, I would be delighted. But I understand how they feel. Writing is scary, especially if you're not doing it in your native tongue. And add to that the fact you're trying to get published in a prestigious journal. No wonder they feel intimidated. And that's where I come in. I offer my clients three things: professional and timely editorial support; writing and grammar tips for clear, concise writing; and, importantly, empathy and moral support. We work as a team, between us producing writing that is clean and ready for publication.

Amanda provides excellent and very professional copy-editing services. She is able to carefully understand the context of the articles and monographs in recommending edits and thought-provoking suggestions. Amanda’s work always results in clearer and more concise documents. I strongly recommend Amanda’s exemplary services.
Dr Chander Velu, IfM, University of Cambridge
I have worked with Amanda for many years to improve our policy reports. She is very professional and supportive. She even helped us developing internal style guidelines.
Jennifer Castaneda Navarrete, Feminist Economist, Policy Adviser, IfM, University of Cambridge
Amanda has consistently proven to be a fast, flexible, and highly effective proofreader and copy-editor. Her collaborative approach, and ability to identify both corrections and potential improvements to text, provide a unique opportunity to learn and to maximise the impact of any copy - regardless of audience and intent.

And a bit about me
In 2009, when I went freelance, I also created The Sanctuary Angels, a small voluntary organisation that raises awareness and vital funds for animals and their rescuers around the world. Together with my amazing team of volunteers, I have raised more than £100,000 for animal rescue. You can read about our work here: www.thesanctuaryangels.com. I have three rescue cats: Pablo Pete, Huey Bee and Martha. When I'm not editing or helping animals, I love power walking, cardio dancing and forest bathing. Taking photos of nature is the perfect way to relax and forget about everything. I also enjoy learning languages, watching films and reading. And I'm partial to train travel and city breaks. Who doesn't love the Eurostar?
