COPY-EDITING

WHAT IS COPY-EDITING?

Copy-editing typically takes place after developmental and line editing and before proofreading. The copy-editor fixes errors related to spelling and grammar, tone and style inconsistencies, and poor syntax and word choice. The process can involve fact-checking and formatting. And reducing wordiness, jargon and waffle to create plain English. Copy-editing is both mechanical and creative. It involves the fine details and the bigger picture. â€‹

HOW CAN I HELP YOU?

I am a qualified copy-editor with extensive experience working with students, researchers and academics, particularly those for whom English is a second language. Past projects include dissertations, essays, reports, journal articles, papers, college magazines and fundraising material, among others.
